Don Letts came to notoriety in the late 70’s as the DJ that single handedly turned a whole generation of punks onto reggae. It was whilst as a DJ at the first punk club ‘The Roxy’ in 1977, that Don adopted the punk D.I.Y ethic and began to make his first film ‘The Punk Rock Movie’. Shot on Super-8mm it is the only documentary on the UK punk scene featuring Sex Pistols, The Clash and many others. This led to a period directing over 300 music videos for an eclectic mix of diverse artists ranging from Public Image to Bob Marley.
Rhoda Dakar is a British singer and musician, best known as the lead singer of The Bodysnatchers, who worked with The Specials and was signed to the 2 Tone record label. World renowned for spinning the biggest and best Soul, R n B, Hip-Hop and dance classics.
Although Jazzie B and Soul II Soul will always be connected, both spiritually and substantially, that has never been all Jazzie has been about. For years now, he has built a parallel career away from the collective, making music, producing & DJing.
This event is part of Terry Hall presents Home Sessions, four huge days of gigs, DJ sets and film screenings staged in iconic Coventry locations. Legendary frontman of the Specials, Terry Hall brings over 40 UK and international artists together for one incredible festival.
TOGETHER WE CAN ALL SEE IT SAFELY
We are staging this event in line with guidance following the Government’s relaxation of COVID regulations regarding social distancing, which is no longer mandatory. To make this event as safe and comfortable as possible we continue to operate on a reduced capacity, however. Limited socially distanced areas will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. To keep your fellow audience members, artists and our team as safe as possible, we expect all our audience and team members to wear face coverings (except those medically exempt). We also encourage everyone to take a lateral flow test before travelling; this too is for everyone’s benefit, because together we can all help each other enjoy a safe and comfortable visit.
